The Odette II is the Hakuoh Academy’s Space Yacht Club’s nearly two hundred years old solar sailing starship that the club uses for practice cruises as one of their club activity. It has a colourful history befitting its age and started service as an experimental solar sail spacecraft before it saw service as a transport vessel, an exploratory vessel and later on as an armed merchant vessel and a camouflaged cruiser during the War of Independence, being one of the Original Seven pirate ships that received a Letter of Marque from the Colony Federation. After the war, all of its weapons and the add-on FTL drive were removed, however leaving all of the program files for them remained locked and hidden in its mainframe. What remained were its extensive and powerful high-frequency radar and electronic warfare system that is comparable to those found on military grade battleships.
