Sky News entertainment reporter Samantha Foxon says rock band Queen have released an emotional and previously unheard track called “Face It Alone”.

“It’s not new, it was recorded in 1988 so 30 something years ago now,” she told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“It was meant to be part of ‘The Miracle’ album, which of course had numerous hits on it, which was released a year later in 1989.”

Ms Foxon said front man Freddie Mercury gives a “powerful performance” in the song as it came shortly after his HIV diagnosis – and two years before his death from AIDS-related illness in 1991.

“The song was lost, basically, and they’ve rediscovered it,” she said.

Ms Foxon said “The Miracle” would be reissued next month to include “Face It Alone”.

“It’s nice to hear his vocals, extraordinary career Freddie Mercury,” she said.
