Kung Fu Panda tends to use a lot of literal translations in the film. Oogway’s Chinese name means Tortoise and Shifu’s Chinese name means teacher or master. As well, the prison referenced in the movie is called the Chor Ghom Prison, which is Cantonese for “go to prison.”
