Azumanga Daioh is a franchise I keep coming back to time and time again. In this video I try to explore some of the reasons why it’s had such a lasting impact on not just me, but many other viewers as well, particularly how the format itself is uniquely used to deliver its sense of The Everyday as the first exmaple of Nichijoukei fiction in anime.

At least that’s what I tell myself, I probably keep watching it cus of waifuism.

Also I promise this is likely the last Azu video from me for a long time, I don’t intend to pull a Manime Matt with 25 Boku no My Hero Academia videos a month.

Special Thanks to Gil for his contribution to the visuals of this video. https://www.youtube.com/c/GilLiesHere
