EONIAN – Expelled from Paradise ED [Piano]

EONIAN is the theme song of the movie “Expelled from paradise” (Japanese name: Rakuen Tsuihou) , a sci-fi anime movie with screenplay by Gen Urobochi.
It has been in the production for almost 5 years, until it finally got released in December 2014.

When I finished watching the movie, the ending song “EONIAN” was stuck in my head for days. And before I noticed it, I got obsessed with the song EONIAN and I kept listening to this piece over and over again.

Especially the sudden key change from Eb-major to Bb-minor in the chorus gives me goosebumps me every time. I can’t simply get enough of ELISA’s powerful voice.

This arrangement is definitely one of my more difficult pieces, since I utilized many left hand arpeggios including a “Beethoven” – inspired arpeggio in the left hand in 2:47. There is also a super difficult hand crossing “three-hand-technique” as well in 3:00.

But it was worth practicing the entire arrangement for the last week, because the song is just too good. It’s so FAAAAAAAAAR AWAAAAAAAAAY~

Well then. *cough*
Give this movie a try if you are looking for a great sci-fi story with an interesting world building concept! You will get used to the CGI animation very soon and the end result is definitely worth watching it. Also, Angela Balzac is a goddess.
