And believe it or not, the book that’s on the hot seat is Deadly Tales of Gunslinger. This is issue six. Issues four and five weren’t that great as we had a different artist, but we’re getting the regular artist back on the book again. And hopefully the book does get back on track here. And it just looks like that, you know, this book is continuing to dive into the earlier years of the character and obviously trying to search for his sister and things like that. So, this book is 24 pages for the price of $3. Moving on to the book that’s on the rise. You might be surprised, but it is, yes, Amazing Spider-Man issue 4. Now, when it comes to Amazing Spider-Man, I thought the first issue was decent. The second issue, I don’t know, it seemed a little fillerish, and then the third issue was a little bit better. And so, that’s why I felt like, yeah, it’s on the rise, right? There’s not a lot of books on this list this week that sit there and qualify for this particular spot. There is potential when it comes to Spider-Man, right? We got Hobgoblin as the main character. Don’t quite know what his motive is. Hopefully Spider-Man can get through this whole hallucinization type of thing that he’s going through. So, I don’t know. We’ll see. But the artwork is improved. This book is, I think, a $4.99 comic. Coming in at number 10, we have a new number one. We have The Thing. So, The Thing is always a fun character, and he’s had his ongoing series and miniseries in the past. In fact, I remember his series when I think I was a kid and it was from like the 1980s and that’s kind of how I remember the thing. So, I think this one could be a lot of fun. Hopefully has some comical moments in this one. And yeah, again, we’ll see what it has to offer, especially now that the Fantastic 4 movie is coming out. I think people could gravitate to this comic book. So, this one is 32 pages for the price of five bucks. Coming in at number nine, we have Detective Comics issue 1,097. Um, I don’t think this book is as strong as it was when it first came out, but it is still decent. I think the artwork is good. I think Tom Taylor storytelling has been solid, and now this is a time to jump on if you haven’t jumped on yet. Yeah, that’s right. This starts a brand new story arc. And now, do the past um story threads continue on into this new story arc? That’s still yet to be determined. So, I’m going to cross my fingers. Hope this book continues to develop. This one is 32 pages, $6. It seems a lot for what it is. Coming in at number eight, we have Moonnight Fist of Konu. This is issue 8. I feel like it took a little while for this issue to come out. I could be completely wrong. Um, but this book has been great. I think this is Jed Mccay’s best book that he writes right now. And because he’s he’s got a long time to develop it. He doesn’t have to focus on too many characters. And uh I just think he gets the voice of Moonnight and he’s dealing with this Fairchild Asgardian drug pusher that’s on his turf causing lots of problems. And it looks like now he’s dealing with like this person’s like right-hand man by the name of Carver. and they might have to battle each other. Great artwork on top of it. There is a supporting cast car supporting cast here and they’re actually written well. So, I’m enjoying this book. Legacy numbering 248, 32 pages, $4. Moving on to number seven, we have another new number one to talk about. We got Spider-Man Wolverine. This is issue one. We’ve had our fair share of Deadpool and Wolverine in the past couple years here, but now we get Spider-Man and Wolverine, and this could be a lot of fun. And for whatever reason, whenever Spider-Man books come out that isn’t the main series, it tends to be better than The Amazing Spider-Man, right? So, this team up could be cool. Not sure exactly who they’re going against, but if you’re looking for action and maybe some solid artwork, this could be something for you. This is 32 pages, five bucks. My number six most anticipated comic goes to Bug Wars issue 4. This is a fun book. It’s kind of like a modern-day telling of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids with like Conan the Barbarian inserted into it. this kid one day just winds up shrinking down into his backyard and he becomes like this uh maybe this god or this worthy one that possesses this amulet that gives him all these powers. Uh these bug creatures all worshiped his father and we’re not sure how his father died. So there’s a lot of mystery there. Meanwhile, uh the kid’s older brother likes to mow the lawn and they all call him like they want him dead. And so there’s some weird stuff that goes on in this book. I’m not going to say this is a perfect book. There’s a lot that goes on to it when it comes to the factions of bugs and this and and everything like that. So, it could be overwhelming for readers and that’s why it’s a little bit in the middle ground for me, but it is a very entertaining read and very original. 32 pages, five bucks. Number five, most anticipated here goes to Superman Unlimited issue one. This kicks off the Superman uh the summer of Superman and this is Dan Slott’s book. Now, if you read the free comic book day preview of this, you kind of get a little bit of understanding what to expect here and I liked it. So, that’s why I’m kind of putting it in the middle ground right now because I only read like six pages of that. But, from what I read, it looks like that Spider-Man is dealing with an asteroid that’s going to approach Earth. He punches it and exposes a whole thing of Krypton and now he’s just hurling in space. So, I don’t know. That could be fun. We’ll see what Dan Slot does with the character. It’ll be interesting to see him write a DC character because I’m used to writing him sp writing him writes I’m used to him writing Spider-Man. There we go. 32 pages, five bucks. Coming in at number four, and upon this recording, I’m not sure if it’s going to be released on time. These books tend to get pushed back. This goes to Mark Spears Monsters issue 5. Um, this book is fun, man. I really enjoy it. I love the monster aspect of it. You got a a bunch of kids that looked into this creepy old house and they saw a monster inside and they’re running away. And then you get this other story going on with the Slayer who is a monster hunter who is retired there. Then you got the Dracula storyline going on. There’s just a lot of different plot points. I bet this book reads really well in trade because it does take time for it to come out. But the big thing about this comic book is I have the the variant cover on here is has my channel name on it, which is kind of cool because it’s an homage to Amazing Spider-Man issue 313. And in the top right corner, uh, this went back to the days of the Inferno story line and it says, “Watch Comic Corner 2.0.” So, uh, me and Mark Spears collaborated on doing an homage cover to Amazing Spider-Man. And so, he he did this for me way back when when he was putting his Kickstarter together. So, uh, I’m so honored to have that, right? So, that’s why I’m excited about this book. All right, this one is six bucks. Moving on to the top three here, we got The Ultimates, issue 12. So, the ultimates has been a little bit I want to say all over the place as of late, ever since we’ve had this battle uh with this version of Hulk. So, I’m hoping that it gets a little bit back on track. I think most recently we had the Thor story line and I wasn’t really into that and I want to see what happens to Iron Lad, which is the Iron Man in this world. And uh I I feel like it’s a little bit of a stall, but it is still really good. And it’s always introducing different characters in here. And I have a feeling by the time we get to the end of it, it’s going to be this big huge brawl against the maker. So, we’ll see. 32 pages for the price of $5. Moving on to number two, we have images. Uh Ghost Machine imprint. This is Redco issue 12. Last issue, we got introduced to the character by the name of the Northerner, and he’s kind of like uh Cable. He’s a time traveler, right? And he comes from the Civil War and whatnot. And him and Simon Pure were battling each other. Why? Don’t know. Simon Pur is also has a mission in in hand as well to deliver some kind of I think it was message or package or something like that. But I want to know more about this Northerner character. And this is the first time that we’ve gotten a a story arc in this series in quite some time. So really excited about it. This one is 32 pages for the price of $4. All right, guys. So, remember after number one, we are not done as we do have those noteworthy comic books to talk about because these books that I’m mentioning here to you are my most anticipated. I just want to give you a quick shout out of what other books are coming out for this comic book week. It’s still not everything though. But my number one most anticipated comic for that week goes to Absolute Flash. This is issue three. So, when it comes to the Absolute Books, I feel like they really pushed uh DC Comics over the edge this past year. Um, I just did a video on kind of the best and worst of DC comics, and these absolute books are all phenomenal in their own way, and The Flash is again no different. We got W-ally West here, who just discovered that he has powers, and he’s running from the Rogues. Now, we’re not quite sure really what the major plot point of this book is right now besides Wall-E running from the rogues and developing the powers, but it makes it for a very chaotic like chase. And you really feel what Wall-E is going through. He’s confused. He’s lost. He’s he’s trying to u run for his life. And I think Jeff Leamir does a great job with that. So, I’m definitely looking forward to this issue of The Flash. 32 pages, $5. Here we go. Noteworthy comics. As usual, we kick it off with Marvel comics. First one we have here is Fantastic 4 issue 32 as it continues the one world under banner under one world under Doom banner line there. Uh, and then why I said banner is because the next one is the Incredible Hulk issue 25. It’s a milestone issue here for Philip Kennedy Johnson. Uh looks like he might be doing battle against Thor. So that’s a classic story line there. Then we have Exceptional X-Men. This is issue 9. Moving on to Iron Man. This is issue eight. This is one world under Doom banner as well. Then we have the continuation of Weapon X-Men. This is issue four. Now we move on to DC Comics here, guys. Uh the next one is Nightwing. This is issue 126. Then we have Batman Superman World’s Finest issue 39. This is the story where it has to do with the uh yesterday uh story line which actually I’m not reading because I don’t read World’s Finest and I stopped reading the Justice League Unlimited book. Then we have the continuation of Wonder Woman issue 21. And then we have Titans issue 23, followed by Batman and Robin, year 1, issue 7, which is really good. And then for all family, for the family out there, we have DC Sonic the Hedgehog. This is issue three. Moving on to the indie comics, I will always mention The Walking Dead. It’s a great series, even if you’re reading it for the first time. This is The Walking Dead Deluxe issue 113, followed by Rogue Sun issue 27 as that crosses over with Radiant Black. Then we have Medieval Spawn issue two, which has been a fun the first issue was a fun read. And then we have the second issue of Vatican City. And then we have a new issue one here, The Curse of Shirley Johnson issue one, followed by Sleep issue one, which could be very creepy as well. So, there you guys have it. There are my top 10 most anticipated and a few noteworthy comics for May 21st, 2025. Hopefully you guys enjoyed the video. Let me know what you’re excited about when it comes to the 21st of May. I can’t believe we’re already there. And as always guys, thank you so much for watching. I’ll leave you more content, I think, right below me here. And remember, support the local comic shops. Keep buying, keep collecting, but always remember, read your comics so we can have great comic conversation. Guys, thank you so much for watching. See you soon.
