Welcome to Mark Jr. Reacts. My name is Mark Jr. Welcome if you’re new. Welcome back if you’ve been here before. Today, we’re gonna be checking out the beginning after the end. Episode 10. Now where we last left off, we got to see Arthur slash Gray teach Lillia and Eleanor to awaken their magic abilities. Or at least Eleanor. I don’t remember if it also was a… I don’t know. I don’t remember if it was Lillia or Eleanor that he helped. But I’m pretty sure he didn’t help both of them. Only one was successful. Anyways, that’s where we left off. And at the very end of the episode, in the end credits scene, we saw a group of men and people mysteriously walking kind of at night towards a building that was big. And one guy had… one guy was a sus. Very sus. And with that said, I am excited for this episode. If this episode is what I think it is, this might be one of the points where I remember quite a bit of what I’ve seen. What I’ve read because I have read the webcomic quite a bit before. My name is Mark Jr. and let’s get into it. That’s pretty. It’s a flying fortress. Oh, the Hellstia Auction House. Stay on that big. I didn’t remember it being that big. Okay, they look pretty good as a family. Yeah, don’t worry. Just have a good time. That’s all you have to do at the end of the day. I’m sure there will be. It looks like the kind of place where they would be. To purchase some of the inventory that Vincent. Yeah, that’s… wait, wait. Where the fuck you gonna get that kind of money, Arthur? You’re not king anymore. Where is he gonna get that kind of money to purchase that kind of stuff in the Auction House? Huh? Huh? You better answer that. I don’t want that kind of plot hole. Ooh, they are beautiful. Creepy. I wouldn’t call that fascinating, but that’s more creepy than anything. Yeah. Ray does. He looks good for being how old he is, I think. It’s like 30, I’m guessing. Yeah, I bet he would love to hear that. [laughs] Ooh, people. There’s a lot of people. Yes, of honor. Oh, his majesty. Oh, the king. Oh, wait, wait, wait. Hold on, hold on. I saw something. This guy, right here. He’s who we saw at the end of the last episode, I’m pretty sure. In the end, courtesy. Okay, so he’s with the king. This is interesting. Okay. Queen Priscilla, Prince Curtis, Princess Kathleen. Okay. So Priscilla, Queen Priscilla. Priscilla. King, not king, Prince Curtis and Princess Kathleen. Okay. Okay. Okay. I’m gonna forget their names, but a guy can hope that he doesn’t forget. Yeah, a good king, probably. Ooh, 10th anniversary. Nice. They’ve been doing it for a while. That’s impressive. I bet it does. And it’s OP time. Awesome. Episode 10, The King’s Defiance. Ooh, that could be interesting. That sounds interesting. They all dress up nicely. The sword was forged by renowned craftsmen. Ooh, that’s pretty cool. Razor sharp edge. 50 gold pieces. Oh, that was fast. All right. That’s interesting information. Yeah, you do. Oh, that’ll be interesting. What’s that, a rock? Oh, a mask. Yeah, where’s… Oh, Sylvie, she disappeared. That’s not good. Yeah. Sylvie, oh, she’s cute. She really is cute. Is she stretching? What’s she doing? I don’t know what she’s doing. Uh, I don’t trust them already. Don’t scare Sylvie. How dare you? I hate that he looks cool. I always hate that there are bad guys, or not quite trustworthy guys that look cool. It’s not fair. Because it’s hard to hate them when they look cool. At least for me. A world lion cub. Poor thing. World lions from powerful manbeas. A class. Ooh, so they’re ranks. Very interesting. Yeah. Only 100 gold pieces? That’s… Damn. He’s flexing that generational wealth. And no one’s going to bid… And the funny thing is, no one’s realistically, most people aren’t going to bid against him. He could’ve… He probably could’ve gone away with just bidding like 500, and no one’s going to bid against him out of like respect or fear of going against the king. Even for something as trivial, quote unquote, as an auction. No one’s going to bid against him. So he could… He didn’t have to spend that much. I guess it’s probably a flex to flex that you have all that money, but he didn’t have to spend that much. So be… Did anyone try? Yeah. Yeah. You better. You better, Curtis. You better take care of that cub. The cub’s cute. Still be. Yeah, don’t trust her. Don’t trust him, Still be. Still be. Ooh. Confrontation. Probably. Yeah. Yep. That’s her part. That’s his partner. No. Yeah. Yeah, she is. Don’t thought… She kind of looks it. Yeah. They make a great pair for like partners. Yeah, you can kick his ass. You can kick his ass, Arthur. Just do it. You once saw a manna beast. Oh, she’s not your manna beast. She already has a partner. Maybe. Probably not actually since… I mean, I… Oh, I paused it. I paused it the worst time. But realistically, if it was any other manna beast, it might be possible. But because she was a gift essentially to Arthur from Sylvie’s mother, she’ll probably only ever be able to be tapped into a full potential with Arthur, which is interesting to think about. Like, no matter how hard this guy tries, he’ll never be able to do it. He might be able to get 90%, but that last 10% could make a break if she becomes like a world under, for example, or something like that. I don’t know. I just think it’s funny that he really thinks that. But of course, he doesn’t know that she was a gift and like they have a special connection. So to be fair to him. Damn, he didn’t even flinch. Damn. The air conjurer? Uh-huh. What does that do to anything? Yeah, and? He’s not flinching. It might be. Honestly, having a very strong manna beast, that could be potential. That’s also fair. That is also fair. Unfortunately, Arthur has to consider the ramifications of something like doing something like this for his family, which ironically is both the best and worst way to get to him because he did all this training to become strong enough to protect them. And so like this is both the best way to get to him, but also the worst way because you’ll just anger him. This guy’s going to have a bad day or night technically. Oh, that’s dope. Damn, he’s scary. I don’t want to mess with him. I’m good. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, Jesus Christ. That’s some aura. This guy’s aura for me. That’s some bloodlust. Yeah. Man, he doesn’t have to do anything. He just has to stand there. You’re going to kill him. Yeah, you think? Damn. You got your emotion? Yeah, you better be. You scared. Still be. You better be sorry. You raised a fine son. Yeah. Unfortunately. Yeah. Uh-huh. Sure. Merciful. What do you consider merciful? Damn, he’s turning it against. This guy’s smart. Got to give him that. The basket here has served the royal family and serve my family more times. I count. Uh-huh. I’m. Yes, he has. Yeah, they got you, bro. Unfortunately, I’m for me, technically. Yeah, that’s right. Reynolds. That’s right. Reynolds is supporting his son. That’s right. Yeah, this is the king of sappin. Sappin. Sappin. No, you’re not. Yeah, that’s right. That’s right. Why your ass off? Yeah. Silvia’s a baby dragon. Anyone they do, they’re not. Hey, I will say at least he recognizes that she’s a reptilian beast. No one recognizes that she’s a dragon, but at least they recognize that she’s a reptile, a reptilian species. That’s progress, I think. I don’t want to crash out again over this whole thing, so I’m just. That’s right. No. Yeah, that’s right. You talk to him. King to king, essentially. He could lose his head in that moment. He could literally lose his head in that moment, and he and that’d be the end of the whole of the whole thing. Like he could just lose his head for that. He won’t, obviously, but he could. And that’s so funny to me that he can, without a single shred of hesitation, talk back to the king like that. And it’s only because he used to be a king in his previous life. But he knows best how to talk. Nice. That was a good punch. Fire. Nice. Reynolds was about to do something, I think. Of course, of course, Arthur intervenes at the perfect time so that Reynolds can’t unleash his true power. We’ve only seen a fraction of what he’s capable of. He could have one shot everybody. I think that. That’s how strong I think Reynolds is. Time freezing. Damn. Oh, nice. If he can freeze everybody else, he probably can. Damn. That’s gotta hurt. No, he froze time. Oh, that’s cool. That’s so cool. I love that. Arthur. Damn. That’s both dramatic and anticlimactic at the same time. Him just passing out like that, but it makes sense how long you set power for. You’re alive. That’s pretty good. Yeah, you did. Upside the flow of time. Jesus Christ. The way he casually talks about stepping out the flow of time. The way you can just casually talk about that is hilarious. Is okay, so is it considered to find the king here’s a question Would you consider to find the king? Would you consider? Refusing a request Define the king that’s what I want to I would not consider that define the king I’d consider that Refusing a request from the king. There is a difference. I think Define implies you intend to maliciously go against the king or maliciously do something negative in Involvement with like what the king wants Refusing a request is just that refusing a request. I think we’re about different story if say He had the king had like been like give us your man a beast and He’s like no that could be then defined because he defined order But instead he’s not defined the king in this instance. He’s still refusing the request that I’m game worked up Yeah, that sucks you know This would this would go a lot better. I think on ironically if Arthur came clean about what actually happened wet the auction house Not about the time stopping that can Be a secret But like the blood loss if our threads can come clean about that. I think this would have worked out better all involved I’ll talk about I’ll talk more about this in the discussion segment Too far the stretch Fair enough You Hell yeah, he deserves it That’s clever Yeah So he says this But what kind of upset are we talking about? Is it like a he feels regret a regretful upset or an angry upset? No, definitely not the auction house. Maybe the auction house. No. Oh That’s the Academy. Oh The Academy stuff is 30 next episode fascinating Oh Hell yeah, you look cool. What’s your name? Fine screw you too. Don’t tell me your name be like that. I’ll call you mr. Owl I guess That’s right trace after mr. Owl. Oh, hey you I Know who I know who she is I’m not gonna pretend. I know who she is I’m sure you have You But you’re just gonna say that and Just that’s what you’re gonna say. That’s the first words and that’s all he says you’ve been waiting Wow Okay I can’t tell the fuck No, I’m crazy. Okay with that said let’s move on to the discussion All right, so This this was a really good episode I would say I would even go so far as to say off the bat that this is probably the best episode of the season so far Maybe it might be tied to when we first saw when we first got to meet Sylvie Sylvia I think that was her name. Maybe Sylvie. I don’t remember the dragon mother’s name That was a really good episode, but this definitely is definitely up there now let’s go through the order of events like I try to do I Like I like the auction house I like how they do this now I also like the The clothes and all that I think the outfits were nice So be adorable in every scene that she’s in because she’s so we she’s adorable. That’s her whole thing right now And the king he’s cool Tryna call sir the king he’s cool and Well, like so far he’s kind of cool design wise he’s cool everything else it’s I Don’t know. I am incredibly I Don’t know how to feel about the king. In fact, let’s uh, we’ll talk about the king for a minute. I Don’t know how to feel about him so far Because I to be clear. I don’t remember much about the king from the comic at all Which ain’t great? Because I don’t know how to feel about him. I don’t remember how I felt about him when I first saw him but This whole I really enjoyed this whole fiasco with him Where is the Here like this stuff. This was really cool when we saw Arthur release his bloodlust. That’s just so cool I actually think in anime when characters like do stuff like this releasing their bloodlust I always think that’s really cool. I don’t know why I just do like because when they because it’s just so cool because It’s something that you only really see in like anime and stuff like that. You don’t see it in like Western TV shows even animated Western shows, you don’t see people like their bloodlust kind of stuff or that kind of or on stuff And But this looked cool and I’d like to get a good angle good picture of it Come on like this. This looks really cool. You can clearly see what’s going on with him and I just I love it. This is so cool. I don’t like this guy All right This guy I don’t like him. He’s Yeah, the P has a pretty cool design He’s a bitch that that’s really what he is at the end of the day. He’s just straight up a bitch and It’s it’s not surprising Given that he he’s a mage for one It’s partially because he’s a mage that I’m not surprised that he’s a bitch because like up close and personal he He gives up he gave up. It’s just it’s just funny to me at the end of the day But yeah, I like this interaction with them. I like this whole thing with the King wanting Sylvie and him saying no and I stand by what I said about how the It wasn’t an order the King never made the order of hanging over Sylvie He made the request and then he offered a trade neither of those are orders which were mean Arthur would be within his it’s in his right to say no to refuse to do something to do that Because that’s not a order It’s a request. There is a difference This whole thing I liked it The Arthur just one-shotting everybody that’s hilarious. It’s not surprising But it’s layers. I also I like I especially like these kind of scenes that we get where we get to see Arthur Embracing the his pastoral as a king. It’s not something it’s well it is something that we get it’s always really cool to see him kind of switch the flip the switch so to speak going from a new guy an old guy in a New body in a new world to a old Old he’s I’m pretty sure he’s like 40 back then But like to like back to his old king role. I just thought I think that’s really cool when he does that and I I respect the king. I gotta respect the king For not having Arthur executed, I guess Although that’s kind of the bare minimum to be fair. That’s like the bare minimum is not Executing a kid for saying no to you But yeah It’s more funny the more I think about it and this was cool as well seeing him use this uh time I Don’t I guess it’s not time stopping it the way Arthur described it. He stepped out of the flow of time now is that time stopping or is that like Going to a different timeline sort of like a different localized timeline I’m not quite sure how they described it did not make it sound exactly like time stopping But anyways, I liked it I like the effect that they use as well to show time being stopped. It’s a clear indicator that There is time being stopped which I appreciate because I know in some shows with like time-based powers They won’t do that. They’ll do more Just showing the characters Characters being frozen not moving and there might be a little flicker on them But nothing like clearest day like this So that’s that’s what I like about that is like it really differentiates the fact that he’s using a time stopping power And let’s see this scene not this one. Come on This was cool as well him sort of Like the a pit like what’s the word? Um Not stand I was gonna say stand But um his like a aura I guess his aura Emanating like Sylvie. I think that’s the dragon that her name is Sylvie I’m like 90% sure that’s actually Sylvie. It might be Sylvia. It’s one of the two But I think I think this was cool and I also I always appreciate When he also like uses his deeper voice as a king. I just really like that voice a lot But this was a really cool image And this might be the thumbnail. I don’t know yet and up this Come on. Nope This isn’t surprising Arthur passing out like He he held that for like I I have no idea how many held it for like 30 40 seconds time On ironically time flows differently So it could have been 30 seconds. It could have been longer or shorter who knows? Well, I’m not surprised that he passed out. I’m glad I’m actually glad that he passed up I’ll be the first to say I might be the first to say this but I’m glad that he passed out Because that That proves that he’s not infallible because if I would have been had more of a problem if he didn’t pass out because Realistically, he should have passed out. He should have straight up. He should have He did pass out which is why I’m glad but if he didn’t pass out So I’m saying I would have problem that because he’s he’s strong, but he’s not He able to manipulate time and not pass out strong yet So I am glad 100% that he passed up it made sense for him to do so I liked a little bit of self-reflection and How he casually mentions once again define the whole pot the powers of a whole nation like Only someone who was a king in his previous life in his previous life would be able to say that or someone who’s overpowered like Sun Jin Woo from solo leveling Well, actually, you know even Sun Jin Moon solo leveling wouldn’t say he’s gonna defy the powers of a whole nation even he’s not that crazy, but Arthur here is apparently like bro. I Also, I appreciate this ending scene as well kind of anything of Arthur and his mother Catching up going out getting a gift for Eleanor and just like bonding They need it especially because it’s been like three years three to five years. I think It was at least three years since they saw each other and I’m pretty sure in in light of all this I’m pretty sure Arthur’s only been back for like less than a month So all this happened in less than a fucking month can like They need some bonding time. He bonded more with his dad than he did his mother By that sparring contest because the fight can be a conversation. I learned that from a show called the windbreaker Okay tangent that’s the tangent aside I like this scene it was nice and then this scene Where’s a? So This whole scene I I mentioned this in the episode in the reaction, I think Arthur should tell The truth about what happened about what happened there with the conjurer minus the time stuff and here’s why if people learn Well for there’s a few reasons actually First one is if he told people what happened his dad would hopefully be off the would probably be off the hook and Would not be in puts in a lot more trouble than he kind of is because He could in theory his dad could have in theory lost his job. He might have lost his job There is no Like definitive he still has his job. He could have lost his job because of Arthur and That’s and the thing is this is if he if his dad lost his job, it would 100% be because of Arthur It would be his fault Yes, technically the conjurer did start it But Arthur’s the one who let his emotions get ahead of him get over him take hold of him and There isn’t and I don’t think there’s an excuse that the whole like he he’s he’s a teenager now stuff He’s not even a teen there. He’s a kid now He is still he still has everything from his past life emotions well Lack of emotions and now emotions, but also his intelligence. He still has that so It would would harness him be his fault because he should be able to control himself better fair enough as and I also mentioned this the conjurer made the point of Mention Arthur’s father parents in a negative light. I did say that is both the best and worst way to get under his skin. I Don’t know what I expected or than that I guess but anyways this Whole thing if Arthur said what happened. I think his dad Ray will be off the hook Or at least be in less trouble But also I think if Ray not Ray if Arthur I keep I sometimes mix up gray and Ray Unfortunately, they’re sound very similar at a G to Ray and you have gray but I Think if Arthur told them what happened he would be treated better well, he’s already well, he’s already being treated well by the healthiest and all that and And his uh, the king recognizes that he had that he has an exceptional son but they don’t realize how exceptional he is if he had told them that that was his bloodlust and And I think he would have been treated better and also that it’s not that he can’t prove it He could easily prove it. He did it once he’s more than capable of doing it again Because again, he’s like He he was a full-grown adult when he died and he remembers all that he remembers the control that he had and all that He would be able to do that again and prove it that that’s his bloodlust. That’s the thing So there’s no like oh he can’t prove it and all that. No, he could actually hands down prove it And so if he did that I think that not only do I think he would be treated better I think that made for an interesting story Other than because if like people knew how strong he was in this kind of world keep in mind We’re talking about this kind of world not modern day like in a solo leveling for example. I use soul leveling for an example Because that’s like the definition about power fantasy but if he but in this world if he if they knew how strong he was no doubt the king would try to recruit him to be like a Yeah No doubt Oh fuck off, okay No doubt the king would try to up Recruit him into being like a bodyguard or soldier or something. I think that would have been cool and Ironically here. Oh, here’s a storyline. I think would be funny. I also it would be cool This is I’m going completely off tangent onto a different tangent, but imagine this Arthur he proves himself to capable of what he’s doing very strong all that and he builds himself up to be like Respected well strong and all the while in the background like as he’s working like as like a soldier or a knight or whatever He’s like building up his forces, and then he just takes over the throne. He Assess amazing the king or challenges him to a duel kicks his ass kills him does whatever takes over rules the entire country I think that would be hilarious I Think you could do it on that honestly But anyways, I think I think it would be interesting if they if Arthur had told them what happened Just because I think it’d be cool But also it it would eliminate a lot of hassle if people know that he’s strong They won’t they he complained he was complaining actually about how they still see him as a kid in this one if he proved How strong he was regardless of his power he would have more respect because of all the power Yes, and they know that he has that power if they knew that he had that power He would be incredibly respected I think and taken seriously No one and even better no one would want to mess with his family realistically if they knew how strong he was I Think that’s what makes people in this kind of situation. I think that’s what makes What a lot of people don’t do Cuz in some stories like this the main character will be like I want to protect my family so that no one else ever Tries to do anything but They always do it more subtly or in the more in the background. They never they don’t usually Make it publicly known. Hey, I’m this fucking strong Don’t don’t mess with my family at all and case case point don’t do it anymore. Don’t never do it Done and deal don’t do it like if you’ll see a lot of characters do that We’re like it’s publicly known. This guy’s really strong. So they’re like, oh, we don’t want we don’t want no that smoke Well, we’ll be alone. We don’t want that smoke, bro And so that’s what I think That’s why I think he should come out and be like Yeah, this is how strong I am. It’s all because of me it help is it’s helping that it would help his dad out In more ways the one actually His dad will be less at fault Considered less at fault and also his dad would his dad would probably gain a ton of respect because Because I that’s his son who’s that strong like Reynolds He’d gain a lot of respect from like strong people more strong people Then he does already has Because like he raised he as far as anyone knows he raised a very strong genius strong strong genius son like I Don’t see a lot of negatives to it aside from like he’s more of a target because like Because people in power always that are with are always a target great with no better than anyone because he was a king But like yeah that’s my thoughts on that whole thing and I Do really want to know if the Kings like which kind of upset the king is at this entire fiasco as this subtile points out But it could be an angry upset or a guilty remorseful upset The guilty remorseful upset is how it’s supposed to be He should be feel a little bit remorse or guilt Maybe not a lot because he’s a king, but you should feel some If he was angry upset the whole thing He He had no right. He has no right to be that he’s his people started it great Arthur I almost I keep calling him great now Arthur just finished it. That’s it.
