welcome back to Anime Worlds this one is massive news for Kaiju Number Eight fans i’ve got some comprehensive details about season 2 that you definitely need to know about the official release date for Kaiju Number 8 season 2 has been confirmed as July 19th 2025 and this announcement came alongside some exciting reveals that show Production IG is really going all out for this sequel the announcement was made at Jump Festa 2025 stage event in December 2024 but the real excitement came at Anime Japan 2025 in March where they dropped the first proper teaser trailer what’s really interesting is that the series will air on MBS TBS affiliated stations in Japan and internationally it’ll be available simultaneously on Crunchyroll Netflix and other major streaming platforms the big highlight from the anime Japan 2025 trailer was the introduction of Gen Narumi the first division captain who’s being called Japan’s strongest anti-Qaiju combatant here’s the twist though contrary to his intimidating title the trailer reveals him holed up in his room pulling an all-nighter playing video games fans were initially disappointed with his character design in season 1’s brief appearance but production IG has significantly addressed this issue with a much more refined representation of Narumi that’s closer to the manga the trailer shows Kafka now assigned to the first division under Narumi’s supervision and we get glimpses of both sides of his quirky personality as he demands Kikuru and Kafka prove their strength before season two drops there’s a special theatrical event called Kaiju Number Eight Mission Recon a compilation film of season 1 plus a new original episode titled Hosa’s Day Off this compilation film was released in Japanese theaters on March 28th 2025 for a 3-week run and internationally it got screenings in the US and Canada through Sony Pictures Entertainment and Crunchyroll as for the episode count while it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet season 1 had 12 episodes and adapted chapters 1 to 39 of the manga so we can safely assume season 2 will likely also have 12 episodes adapting around chapter 40 to chapter 80 season 2 will adapt the manga’s kaiju weapon arc compatible user arc and possibly the Cataclysms arc as well so mark your calendars for July 19th and if you get a chance definitely check out that Mission Recon compilation film to get hyped for what’s coming this is all for today
