As the theme of Alias is the shogun, I decided to do something with Japanese culture, which is the tango. A demon known for his prankstering and trickery. This character or this demon in mythology has been referenced in pop culture all around. So, I thought I should do it some honor. What’s up, my trimo vi peeps? Welcome to another episode of Trinago Vibes. This is the third year we are here at Alias Entertainment Expo and in this one, you know, we’re going to do things a little differently. We’re going to try and well, we’ll walk around the display floor and then we’re going to, you know, interview some local cosplayers right here on the final day of the expo. Trim Lego vibes. All right, let’s do this. Now, Allias Entertainment Expo takes place every year around the last weekend in July at the center of excellence in McCoy, Trinidad. And it’s truly an anime expo with cosplayers such as Granny Seiko from Dandan. Yes. So, what what what got you into this whole cosplay? Well, as a huge fan of anime, I’ve always wanted to cosplay. Now, during the years, I used to like participate, but you know, seeing everybody in the cosplay and thing, I say, “Well, let me try it.” And like the first year, I got into it. And ever since then I just keep build and building and you know trying to do my own stuff because being around here with all the creativity it is a little intimidated so it really forces you to like try your stuff you know. Yeah. But at the same time wouldn’t you agree it’s also a welcoming committee. So yes it is it is a love listen it is a loving community. Do not be afraid to geek out. You have a lot of people to geek out with and is not weird for loving the stuff. It is a part of you. It’s a part of what you love and if you have a passion in it, go for it. Don’t don’t sit down on it. Be a part of it. It’s really great and everybody helps you. So even you might feel like you’re in, you know, cosplay good or your things not looking good. Trust me, the amount of support you does get, you’ll feel like you make use. You feel like you make the best thing of all. So yeah. So we have kendo happening here and they have both beginners and advanced classes right in Port of Spain and San Fernando. Now this is a modernday Japanese martial arts. And you know check out the dude in action. Well the kendoka or kenshi with a bamboo sword or shai. Shout out samurai X. So my character is Tenna from Delta Rune. The cosplay is well inspired by well my love for the character. I started cosplaying in 2015 16 and basically I started because I just wanted to become my favorite characters and you know I really enjoy it now. It’s one of my favorite things to do. All right. So now we have Hi, my name is Jafria Kobe and I am cosplaying Sino from Genchin Impact. I started cosplaying uh 2 years ago, but what got me into cosplay was um the anime. I just love making costumes. I made all this by myself. It took 7 months. This took two and this took five with the help of my mom and my sister. Um yeah, I I think it’s so great. If you love anime, come come by. It’s like, come on. Hi. Um okay, my character is like a casual Finn. Um, I just decided to cosplay her because she make the sword. So, I was like, might as well cosplay her and come. So, my character is Ira from Dander Dance, specifically her demon form. And actually, this convention is what got me into cosplay because I didn’t realize there was such a large community for cosplayers. So, I just decided to take my, you know, enjoyment and creativity and take it into cosplay. stop our project, you know, rescue, foster, adopt, donate, educate. These are some of the pups. Well, I know Minecraft. Yeah. Hi, I’m dressed as William Afton from Five Nights at Freddy’s. I got into this at from one of my friends at school like 3 years ago. She told me that there was this school anime con in the center of excellence and I was like, “Wow, I definitely need to be here.” So, we we came here and bought a weekend pass and it’s I’ve been coming here every single year because it’s just it’s so cool to be around so much, you know, anime fans and stuff to be around people who love the exact same things as you. Yes. It’s really a cool cool thing. Okay. I am Gingi from Apothecary Diaries. This is Ma from also from Apothecary Diaries. Um, I basically walked her into cosplay because my brother, he normally cosplays. So, he introduced me to the whole anime thing. So, when I came and I see all these cosplayers having fun, everybody in character, I just decided to join in too. And then I roped her into it. I got roped in. Nice, nice, nice. All right. So, I’m Ghost from Call of Duty. So this cosplay I’ve been building on like since well like 2015 or somewhere around there. So this a dream jersey and just one simple going out of cardboard and why just keep building on it. See some inspiration from other cosplayers from international and stuff doing it and decided to go full kit build the vest build everything take like some months out of cardboard and cardboard is easily readily available so anybody could use it to make anything. Yeah. Yeah. and just put some spray paint and you’re good to go. Hi, I’m cosplaying your forger torn princess from Spyx Family and I’m cosplaying Aba from Guilty Gear and this is Paraselis her husband. Yes. So, what got you into, you know, cosplay and all these things? Um, when the pandemic happened, I saw it a lot on Tik Tok. So, when I see Alias open back up, I was like, well, let me try. So, three years now and a cosplaying for Ilias. So, I think it’s fun. I like the crafting aspect of it. Yes, can’t go wrong with that at all. I also like the crafting aspect of this, but this is like the first cosplay I’ve ever like fully made, except for the pants, but that’s fine. We made the Parasel, too. Yeah. In like 2 months. Yeah. Now, the theme of this expo is the legend of the Shogun. And we saw some kendo earlier. Now, it’s judo. you know, the unarmed modern-day Japanese martial arts. And this club is located in Porto, Spain and has been around since 1996. The Queens Park Judo Club. All right, let’s take in a little more of this demonstration before we jump back into the interviews and the main floor at Alias Entertainment Expo 2025 at the center of excellence, McCoya, Trinidad. Trinbago vibes. That’s pretty awesome. And yeah, we have Mario and Luigi. So, we’ve got Injustice or Mortal Kombat happening here, some more Mario Kart, Super Smash Brothers, and Naruto. All right. And now we have Hi, I’m Nicholas and I’m cosplaying as Okaron from Dandan. This is his toboy form. Um, it’s been a lovely event. A lot of people like my cosplay as you could see. Yeah. Right. Um what got me into cosplaying? Um basically seeing other people away like different cons like New York Comic-Con, San Diego and those other on Dragon Con. Basically that’s what got me into it at the age of 16. Yeah. Yeah. Basically it it looked like a lot of fun and I said you know what let me give it a try. So right now we are with my name is Napali. I go by Cookie Bles online on every platform and this is I go by Prud Reaper online but my real name is Philip and today I’m cosplaying Invincible and I’m cosplaying Atom Eve from Invincible and he is Mark Grayson the main character of Invincible. Yeah. And what got you all into cosplay? So this is my second time cosplaying. Um I never really made my own outfits or anything but I really like anime. I really like shows. I really like games and I like interacting with people around me and cosplaying is a way to like get easy conversations so I can talk to people who like the same stuff that I like. All right. And now we have Hi, I’m Marian. This is my cosplay of a traditional Chinese outfit called a handful. What got me into cosplaying was that I like I like anime. I like gaming. I’m an animator. Um Oh, you animator? Yeah. And I I love Well, I used to watch Chinese shows that heavily influenced me into like dressing like this. Oh, nice. Yes. I’m cosplaying Shisukan from My Dress Up Darling. And what I love about Alias is that you get to see so much cosplays and meet new people who like the same thing as as you. Hi, I’m cosplaying Momo Aya from Dandan and I really love just making cosplay or to like dress up and be a different character and to come around and meet other people and be like, “Hey, I love your outfit or hey, I know that show.” So, yeah, that’s why I love Alias. Um, hi, I’m playing Utah from Jiujutsu Kaisen. This is my first time here and Oh, nice. it. I like all the exhibits. I get to buy things. Yeah, because now I finally have merch and I never had before. So, this is my first time cosplaying, too. Oh, that’s nice. So, yeah, it’s fun. Of course, it is. It’s really fun. All right, let’s see. How am I doing this? I’m playing uh well, I’m cosplaying Duchess Louisa from um Wisly Heart. I like the fact that we get to dress up as different characters that we like and see other people who dress up as well and interact. Yes. Oh yeah. Wow. She made the whole thing too. And yeah, it’s a fun experience to be here. All right. Cuz this one I know I’m most familiar with. I’ve played like almost all the games. Yep. I’m playing Ala from Assassin’s Creed. So, I’m representing the gaming community. Um, it’s my first con, too. This is my sister, so it’s both of our first cons. Um, I wasn’t expecting people to be familiar with Assassin’s Creed, but I got a few I got a few um, so, yay, that’s great. Yeah. Um, what I like about the con so far, the keychains, I like seeing people enjoy themselves being nerds. I’m a huge nerd, but you don’t know who else is a huge nerd out here, especially in Trinidad. So, it’s just nice seeing people be themselves. Yeah. All right. Thank you all so much. Yes. You’re welcome. This is one of my favorite characters from Silent Hill 2. Um, the name is Pyramid Head and basically it’s just a horror game that they just chase you around throughout the map and you just have to find a way to outpass them. You can’t really do anything to them. It’s the vibe that they bring to the game and just the horror in it that really captivates the scene of this character. Hello. Um, the character that I’m cosplaying is Gintoki from Gintama. And what got me to cosplay is, you know, I just wanted to embody a bunch of the characters that I like. And what’s the best way to do so than with cosplay? And Tokyo was the first character that I choose because I just act like him and I just look like him too. All right. Nice man. Hi. Hi Trinidad and Tobago. This is your boy Sergey Wolf coming here at Alias 2025. The Shogun now bouncing to my boy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Trim big, you know. Big up. Is not basically a character. Is one of my personal characters I made up. Oh, you made up this? Yeah. His name is Si Wolf. Okay. And everybody been asking why a regular wolf is part of the Akatsky number one and he don’t have shine gun eyes. Well, you could see he has the shine gun eyes. He has the eyes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. I appreciate it, brother. And I appreciate the support all the time. Always. Always go back. Take care. It’s such an amazing thing to find people here, you know, and it’s cool to interview people and the main person herself, you know, the one who put all this together. So last year she was firing if you didn’t know, right? So tell me what the went with the team with the shogun this time. Yeah. Well, I mean this year we wanted to kind of go back to where we started with the whole thing which is really about, you know, Japanese culture and promoting that. We love anime here and the team came to me like I always have the ideas to the teams like a couple of years kind of in advance and I know I wanted to do something like Japanese team and then I saw the show Shogun and I was like that is it that is the team that is it right there. Yeah. All right. And and how you find it was overall it was actually really really good. This kind of hearkens back to when we began the expo because we’ve been doing alias for 15 years but we’ve done the alias as our expo since 2014 and this year it’s kind of similar to how it was in 2014 like we ran out of bands like there was a lot of people here yesterday not we did not anticipate it like it would be this big this year so I feel like it’s a full circle moment really for us of course. I have been cosplaying for the past 10 years. This is my final cosplay as in big costume bill. I’m retiring after this. Oh, nice. Yes. All right. And here we have Ashley. And Ashley, who is your character? This character is Ryden Shogun from the game Genchin Impact, the weekly boss version of her outfit. What got you into the cosplay? When I was 12 years old, I went to my first convention ever. It was Heroes Convention uh 8 in the in Napa. We went on a school field trip with our anime club and that is what got me into cosplaying, seeing everybody on stage. I wanted to do the same thing. So, since then, I’ve been making all of my cosplays from scratch and it’s been about 10 years since I’ve been cosplaying. Hi. Um, I am cosplaying Cotton Candy Garnet from Steven Universe the movie, not the show. I am relatively new still. This is my first costume. Your first time? Mhm. Um, well, technically I did the same costume like a year or two ago. Nobody has to know that. Yeah. The first time we see this hair. Still new. Um, but my friends actually inspired me to get into cosplay. Um, as I got into like gaming and Twitch and all of that, I met more people and, you know, I was always interested in wanting to do it. So, I’m like finding this community. So, I’m really glad. Hi, Angel. I cosplay here. Well, I have been cosplaying since 2017. My first one was Batwoman. So, it’s Triny Batwoman, I think. Um, I enjoy the expo because it allows and gives me a chance to express my inner geek and weave and, you know, artistry, makeup, and sewing and everything in one to do everything at a. Oh, wow. Now, we have Shay. My name is Shay. I am dressed as the Scarlet Witch, specifically mostly inspired by the W division end of season finale. Um, what got me into cosplay? I’ve always wanted to. I’ve dressed up in costumes before like Slender Man for like Halloween and stuff and I always wanted to do like an actual cosplay. So, I felt like, you know what, I like Wonder. Let me try Wonder W. And Agatha Along came out last year and I was like, yeah, yeah, which is which is on your mind. Yeah. Yeah. Hi, my name is Christine, but I’m portraying Ekko right now. So, he’s a character from Arcane. He’s honestly one of my favorite characters from that show, and he’s honestly a good guy that everybody should aspire to be. Speaking of inspiration, Dread, I just have to shout out everyone at Allias Entertainment Expo, you know, especially those we had an awesome time interviewing and for those watching, give yourself credit because it takes courage to be on camera and my fellow cosplayers did an amazing job. Also, shout out the Allias team, you know, for hosting this event for the past 15 years. Well, this iteration was happening since 2014, as Panona Cosplay stated earlier, and it’s the place to be if you want to find like-minded people who enjoy anime, Asian culture, gaming, along with some other fun activities. Um, well, honestly, I kind of forgot what she was. I haven’t played the game in so long, but I love the character. I love purple. And Alios is my first time actually coming to Alas. I usually go to Galacticon quite a bit. First time coming here. It’s actually great. I love it. I love it a lot. It has a lot of new different experiences it doesn’t have at any other conventions and as a first timer definitely come in a game. Oh, nice. Hi. Um, my character is actually Flora from Wings and I did it because she was actually one of my favorite characters from the show. Um, I used to watch all of my little sister, so I I love that show very much. Um, and I love flowers and being all fairy airy airy fairy. So, um, my this is my first time actually coming to Alias, like in any anything anime related at all, and my first time getting to cosplay, and it’s really fun. The experience I had was amazing. Um, even yesterday, I got to shoot a bow and arrow. That was like my first time in my life doing that. So, everything was like so fun and enjoyable. Everybody here is so nice. Like, everybody come, can I have a picture? They’re so nice. Like, nobody no judgment, nothing. Everything is amazing here. We don’t judge here. I just I can’t wait to come for another
