World Cosplay Summit 2018【世界コスプレサミット2018】
[Music] Ho ho. It’s me, Mia. Today’s topic is cosplay. Cosplay is Japang English, and it comes from costume play. Japanese anime and manga are loved all over the world by many people. And its popularity didn’t stop just appreciating them, but getting into characters as well, which created a cosplay culture. To boost international interactions among cosplayers from all over the world, the one and only, drum roll, bam, world cosplay summit was created in 2003 here in Nagagoya. There are several different event sites during WCS and many cosplayers gather to enjoy this wonderful festival together. It’s fun and full of excitement. But the musty event is the cosplay championship. Representatives from many countries fight for the title number one cosplayers of the world. And the heat is rising every year. And guess what? This world cosplay slumist just took Wait a minute. And guess what? Gosh, I can’t talk. And guess what? This World Cosplay Summit just took place beginning of this August and it looks like we have an interview video that we can watch. Let’s take a look. I’m so excited. You know, I’m virtual so I can’t go to these places. I’m trapped here. Let’s watch. Let’s watch. Start. I’m excited. Oh, this is Majimura. Majamura is a theme park where it depicts time of Japanese industrial revolution. It’s a fun place. Look at those people. Wow. I see a lot of characters. Where are you from? Singapore. Singapore. Wow. About the hospital so far. together. She’s so cute. [Music] Wow. [Music] That’s it. Is this the wedding chapel? It’s gorgeous. Oo, many people again. I am from Bulgaria. I’m from Portugal. Portugal. I am from Korea. Yeah. So from Germany. Germany. Welcome. This is also your first time like cosplaying each other, right? It’s really beautiful. It’s really beautiful and it’s uh you never get the chance to be in such a wonderful place and in such a perfect fitting part for cosplay. So it’s really amazing and we are really thankful to be here at Hong Kong. Hong Kong. Everyone seems to be enjoying their time. What time? USA. We’ve cosplayed for 10 years and 14 years. 14 years. Wow. It’s beautiful. It is gorgeous. We We don’t have anything like this at home. This is gorgeous. Gorgeous. Yes, you are gorgeous. Yes, you are gorgeous. I love Berserk. I just I like the story. I like the characters. I like goats. I guess I’m going to say Rosa Versailles be because I I just love these characters and the the story is excellent. Excellent. They really love the character in the story. My hero academic. My hero. Yeah. [Music] Are they actually getting married? Wow. Like I said, it’s so amazing to see all these people coming to Japan and sharing their time together and doing what they love. It’s beautiful, isn’t it? My goal is to share Japanese culture and make the world thrive. But more importantly, I want to make people smile. Did you see?
