Kakuriyo Bed and Breakfast for Spirits Anime Recap Season 2 Episode 7: Beyond the Veil, On the Menu

Alright, spirit foodies! Welcome back to Kakuriyo:
Bed and Breakfast for Spirits Season 2 Episode 7. This episode turns the heat all
the way up — swapping the cozy inn vibes for full-on political drama,
secret missions, and heartbreak. Aoi steps into the spotlight not just
as a cook, but as the only one brave (or reckless) enough to take on the chaos
threatening both the Master and Tenjin-ya. The episode opens with Tenjin-ya
in turmoil. The Master, Odanna, has gone missing after being summoned to the
capital, Yōto, under suspicious circumstances. In his absence, Raiju boldly
claims control of the inn, turning once-loyal staff into uncertain pawns. Normally calm and composed, the accounting
chief Byakuya finally breaks his stoic façade. He tells Aoi and the others that saving Odanna
means going straight into the heart of enemy territory — the Imperial Capital,
where the Ayakashi King reigns. Fueled by love and loyalty, Aoi refuses to sit
back. Her determination burns brighter than ever: if her cooking once saved spirits and soothed
gods, maybe it can change the tide of war too. Aoi sets off under the guise of a traveling chef,
opening a temporary Moonflower food stall aboard an airship bound for Yōto. Beneath the gentle
scent of miso and steam buns, she’s really on an infiltration mission — a cook’s way into
the lion’s den. Onboard, Aoi crosses paths with Hatori from
Orio-ya, who’s now risen to lead his inn. Their reunion is warm but tense; he warns
her about Zakuro, a former Tenjin-ya worker and rumored ex-fiancée of Odanna.
Zakuro is now one of the Hachiyō, the elite rulers serving the Imperial Court —
and a key piece in the growing political web. The young prince Takechiyo, once
Aoi’s cheerful little diner companion, has been taken to Yōto by Raiju’s faction.
His disappearance is part of a larger power play that threatens to crush Tenjin-ya completely. For the first time, we see the tender
side of Byakuya. He reveals that he once loved a human woman named Suzume, whose
short, fragile life changed him forever. Her memory fuels his loyalty to Odanna and
his quiet understanding of Aoi’s human heart. With this bond in mind, he entrusts
her mission with everything he has. With Sasuke and Chibi at her side, Aoi
sneaks into the capital in classic spy fashion — blending courage, cunning, and
kitchenware. She finally reaches Takechiyo, but the joyful reunion turns chilling. The prince sits motionless, eyes empty, his
spirit seemingly shackled by dark magic. Meanwhile, far from her sight,
Byakuya confronts the Ayakashi King head-on — a desperate gambit
that could cost him everything. The episode ends on a double-edged note — Aoi
preparing to revive Takechiyo the only way she knows how: through her food, her heart,
and her will to protect those she loves. This marks a turning point. Aoi is no longer just a girl running an inn — she’s a force
stirring the pot of destiny itself. Don’t forget to like, subscribe,
