When Aoi finds Snow Yokai People don’t trust anyone | Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi Ni
On their way to the northern lands, the group is confronted by a sky pirate ship, which demands their resources. Byakuya tells Ginji to leave with Aoi and deliver a message to the litriary Tanuki. Ginji then leaps overboard with Aoy while Ranaru deals with the pirates. He asks Aoi to wear a mask to hide her identity as a human and takes her to the underground roadway system, which is many times larger than the one in Udo, but is not maintained. As they walk, both sense that the snow people are treating them as outsiders. In a hotel room, they meet Chiaki, who promises to deliver Bayakuya’s message to the land of literature. Later at Hi Castle, they are stopped at the gate, but Kassuga comes and shows them the way while revealing that snow people don’t trust outsiders and that she is also going through the same treatment. In the castle, Kio Lysak tries to delay them, but Kio meets with them immediately. Bayakuya and Ranaru appear, having defeated the pirates. Kio plans to support Odana in exchange for help reviving the north’s declining tourist industry. Vakuya and Renmaru agree to offer tours of the northern lands by airship from Tenzina and Orioya. Kio also asks Aoi to create a signature food item that tourists can only get in the north. Aoi asks Kassuga to help her, but Lys scolds Aoi for asking Hatio’s wife to cook. Kasuga reminds Lisak that as Odana’s fianceé, Aoi is her equal and Lisak’s superior, which angers Liysac further. Kassuga reveals her father, Minister Yayyasu, is assessing Kio’s worth as Hatio to determine if the land of literature will support Odana. Awei realizes the food item challenge will be important in determining Odana’s fate. Kasuga realizes that one of the ice plates the food is served on was a forgery generated by a snowwoman and mixed with poison to kill Kassuga. Realizing Kassuga has constantly feared poison since becoming Kio’s wife, Owi decides to cook for her. Kasuga asks for Moonflower’s curry which Aoi makes with northern mushrooms and fish. Byakuya returns to Tenjinya, leaving Ginji and Ranmaru to protect Aoy.
