☁️💔 “I’m right here with you, Shota! You can do this!” The voice kept cheering him on. Aizawa kept fighting. He defeated the villain. He won. And then he looked down. And the speaker was broken. And Shirakumo was already gone.
This is the moment that broke Shota Aizawa.
During a work-study mission with the Purple Revolution Agency, U.A. students Aizawa (Eraser Head), Shirakumo (Loud Cloud), Yamada (Present Mic), and Kayama (Midnight) responded to a villain attack by Garvey — a kaiju-sized monster whose Quirk allowed him to absorb and stockpile other heroes’ powers, then fire them back as devastating attacks.
The battle spiraled out of control. Buildings collapsed. Debris rained down on a group of trapped children. And without hesitation, Oboro Shirakumo used his Cloud Quirk to shield them — creating a protective barrier that saved every single child’s life.
But he didn’t have time to protect himself.
Shirakumo was buried alive under the rubble. And Aizawa — the anxious, overthinking student who always doubted whether he could be a real hero — was left alone to face a villain that had already taken down multiple Pro Heroes. 💀🌩️
🌟 WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS EPISODE:
Episode 8 — “Last Words” — is one of the most emotionally devastating episodes in the entire My Hero Academia franchise.
After Garvey’s rampage causes a building to collapse, Shirakumo rushes to save the children trapped underneath. He successfully creates a cloud barrier around them, ensuring their survival — but in doing so, he’s crushed by falling debris and buried under a mountain of rubble.
Aizawa doesn’t realize what’s happened. His Purple Highness is knocked out. Midnight and Present Mic are unconscious. He’s the only one left standing, and he’s terrified. But then — through the chaos — he hears Shirakumo’s voice crackling through his radio speaker:
“Come on, Shota! You’ve got this! I’m right here with you!”
And Aizawa fights.
He fights harder than he’s ever fought in his life. Using his Erasure Quirk, he systematically deactivates every wart on Garvey’s body where the villain stores his stolen Quirks, preventing him from using his stockpiled attacks. When Garvey tries to swat him away, Aizawa climbs back up. When he gets knocked down, he gets back up. Every time he hesitates, Shirakumo’s voice encourages him to keep going.
Finally, Aizawa devises a plan. He throws debris at Garvey to enrage him, forcing the villain to activate all of his warts at once. The moment they light up, Aizawa erases them all with his Quirk, wraps his capture scarf around the warts, and hurls them inside Garvey’s body — where they explode from within, taking down the kaiju.
Victory. The villain is defeated. The day is saved.
Aizawa rushes back to tell Shirakumo the good news — and finds medics pulling his friend’s bloodied corpse out from under the rubble. The speaker is shattered. Broken. Silent.
Shirakumo had already been dead the entire time. The voice Aizawa heard — the encouragement that kept him fighting — was all in his head. A desperate hallucination born from adrenaline and denial.
Aizawa, Yamada, and Kayama stand in the rain, crying over the body of their best friend. The boy who always smiled. The boy who wanted to open a hero agency with them. The boy who gave Aizawa his signature goggles so he could protect his eyes in battle.
Gone. 💔🌧️
This is why Aizawa became an underground hero. This is why he’s so harsh on his students. This is why he expels anyone who treats heroism like a game. Because he knows — better than anyone — that one moment of hesitation, one reckless decision, one act of heroism without preparation… can cost you everything.

U.A.の実習中、巨大怪獣ヴィラン・ガービーの攻撃で瓦礫が子供たちに降り注ぐ。白雲朧は「クラウド」で子供たちをシールドし、全員を守り抜いた——だが自分を守る時間はなく、瓦礫の下敷きになる。
残されたのは相澤消太だけ。恐怖に怯えながらも、無線から聞こえる白雲の声に励まされ、彼は単独でガービーを撃破する。
しかし勝利の後、相澤が見たものは——担架に乗せられる白雲の遺体だった。スピーカーは壊れていた。つまり、聞こえていた励ましの声は、全て彼の幻聴だった。
