Prince’s most iconic support band was the Revolution. While unnamed in earlier iterations the Revolution included Dez Andre & Gayle. The classic lineup is the Wendy, Lisa, Fink, Bobby Z, & BrownMark.

Prince is considered to have been an uncommonly talented & studio aware young artist. Princes initial recording agreement gave him unprecedented artistic control. He began auditions only to support him on tour.
Because of Prince’s notorious secrecy many of his songs have mysterious origins.
In later years Prince clearly began to openly court contributions from the Revolution.
Wendy & Lisa, BrownMark & Dr Fink storied collabs. Wendy & Lisa however were an obvious presence in the post Purple Rain era.
The collaborations he did allow soon created tension at all levels.
