It began serialization online in December 2016 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later acquired by SB Creative, who have published thirteen volumes since May 2017 under their GA Novel imprint. A manga adaptation with art by LIVER JAM&POPO has been serialized online since July 2017 via Square Enix’s online manga magazine Manga UP!. It has been collected in seventeen tankōbon volumes. The manga is licensed in North America by Square Enix. An anime television series adaptation by J.C.Staff will premiere in January 2022.
SYNOPSIS :
His strength limited by the magical crest with which he was born, Mathias, the world’s most powerful sage, decides reincarnation is necessary to become the strongest of all. Upon his rebirth as a young boy, Mathias is thrilled to discover he’s been born with the optimal crest for magical combat on his first try. Unfortunately, the world he’s been born into has abysmally poor standards when it comes to magic, and everyone thinks he’s still marked for failure.
