The Big O (THE ビッグオー) – 1999

『THEビッグオー』（ザ ビッグオー）は、1999年10月13日から2000年1月19日までWOWOWで放送されたロボットアニメ。2003年には続編『THE ビッグオー second season』が放送された。

記憶を失った街「パラダイム・シティ」で、ネゴシエイターとして働く男、ロジャー・スミスと、彼が乗り込む巨大ロボット、ビッグオーの活躍を描く作品。1960年代、1970年代のロボットアニメや特撮へのインスパイアが作品の味となっている[1]。当初は全13話・未完で終わる予定だったが、アメリカでの好評を受けて第2期が製作された。
