再びオフィーリアと邂逅するジュリエット。しかしその口から告げられた世界の、そして自分の運命はあまりにも重く、その場にうずくまってしまうのだった。一方、直前に起きた地震の衝撃で街のあちこちから火の手が上り、混乱するネオ・ヴェローナ市街。さらにモンタギューの命により、マキューシオが街に火を放つ。その事実を聞かされたロミオは父に失望し、背を向けるのだった。ジュリエットは被害にさらされた街と、そこに生きる人々を見つめながら、独り決意を固める…。
