It is about time I record another cover!
The first quarter (and the accompanying 2 week break) of my first year of University is over, and I will be approaching the mid year exam season soon. Since I have taken up a music technology course as an elective course (I major in the Health/Medical sciences field), I have been familiarising myself with the music department and spending my free time playing on the university’s pianos. As a result, I chose to record on this Yamaha C7 grand, with a bright sound suited for pop music.
This arrangement can be seen as an evolution of my Sakamoto Desu ga? OP performance, as it attempts to incorporate more 3-handed technique passages and experimental runs. For example, in the verse, I have tried to replicate the background guitar riff and the drums with my left hand while playing the vocal melody with my right hand. While it took almost one month to transcribe this piece (due to university and lack of motivation), I find it quite fun to perform.
I have to admit that I still have not mastered the arrangement enough, which is evident through some obvious mistakes I made. However, I love to develop arrangements on the complex side, as it allows me to keep pushing my abilities to greater heights. Nonetheless, I would have certainly benefited from more time and practice.
Enjoy the performance! Depending on my university workload, I may be able to squeeze in another project from this season. If I can, it will probably be a simpler arrangement.

I have not played the original mobile game, but I have heard that the music composer and art director are both notable for their work in a number of Final Fantasy titles. The anime so far definitely gives off a classic RPG vibe, so I am curious to where it will head. I can say that it is kind of an underrated anime of this season, due to the fact that it was originally delayed from last season into this season (thus muting the hype). Nonetheless, I am enjoying it so far!
