Ever since he developed sudden hearing loss in junior high school, university student Kohei Sugihara (Motoki Nakazawa) has taken it for granted to keep his distance from others.
One day, as he was about to eat lunch alone as usual, his classmate Taichi Sagawa (Toranosuke Kobayashi) suddenly appears.
Kohei silently offered his lunch to Taichi, who has been fired from his part-time job and was hungry, and leaves the spot.
Later, Taichi finds out that Kohei had difficulty hearing, and in return for the bento, he volunteers to be a “note taker” who delivers lectures simulataneously to hearing-impaired students….
