At the end of Samurai era (Edo) the new Meiji government is founded in Japan. This historical transition between the samurai era and the modern era is a period of upheaval. In addition, a legend says that every 300 years the “Orochi” (gigantic snake) resurrects in order to destroy Japan. This gigantic snake is hidden in one family through generations before taking over one human body when coming back to life. Through this human form, the Orochi’s power will be unstoppable.
Three young brothers, Tenka, Soramaru, Chutaro who are the guardian of Kumou shrine stand up to prevent this gigantic snake to come back to life and save the country.
Along with the Kumou brothers, there is also the special unit of the Japanese military called “Yamainu” which is formed to prevent the gigantic snake destroying Japan. On the other hand, another ninja tribe (called Fuuma) wants to use the power of the snake to conquer Japan. The three forces have their own mission and goals, which surround the snake, and collide or sometimes converge in order to accomplish their goals.
Soramaru (one of the Kumou brothers) ends up being the actual carrier of the snake and transform while the Fuuma ninja clan takes control over him. Tenka heads out to rescue his brother, carrying a special sword passed through generations in their family to separate the evil snake from Soramaru himself. Would Tenka be able to save his brother?.
