This show (YAWARA!) shot to the top of my favourite shows list this year out of nowhere when I stumbled across it while looking for judo stuff. The detail and love for judo is apparent in the animation and although the story has it’s hang-ups, the sport action is riveting from start to finish. (Apologies for the low quality and lack of subtitles, I did my best with the video files I had.) The show is based on Naoki Urasawa’s manga that ran from the late 80s to the early 90s.
