和楽器によるポップスのパイオニア、箏座の代表曲を2つのヴァイオリン、チェロ、クラリネット、トランペット、ピアノ、打楽器、笙のアンサンブルで演奏してみた。
組曲「竹取物語」は文字通りかぐや姫の物語を題材にした作品で原曲は十三絃箏2台、十七弦箏、尺八、打楽器で演奏される。それぞれの楽器の対話の多い曲であるので、ここでは2つのヴァイオリン、クラリネットとトランペットがそれぞれペアとしてアンサンブルするように心がけて編曲し、それが左右に分かれるように配置し視覚的にも楽しめるように考えてみた。他のチェロ、ピアノ、打楽器、笙は多彩な音色でアンサンブルを支え、また彩り豊かいにしている。
原曲の持っている演奏の楽しさと表現の深さに少しでも近づけていればと願っている。
・祝宴[0:00]：かぐや姫の美しさや男たちの騒がしさが織り込まれた、華やかなかぐや姫の成人の宴の様子。
・昇天[5:49]：月からの使者がかぐや姫を迎えに来て、様々な思いを残しながらかぐや姫が月へと帰っていく光景。

A representative piece by Koto-Za, a pioneer of pop music with Japanese instruments, was performed by an ensemble of two violins, cello, clarinet, trumpet, piano, percussion and sho.
The suite “Taketori Story” is inspired by the story of Kaguyahime (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tale_of_the_Bamboo_Cutter), and the original piece is played on two 13-string kotos, a 17-string koto, a shakuhachi, and percussion instruments. Two violins, a clarinet and a trumpet, are arranged as a pair respectively to recreatye the interactions between the instruments in the original piece. The two people who make up each pair are placed separately on the left and right, enhancing the visual effect. The cello, piano, percussion, and sho (https://w.wiki/6Lf6) support the ensemble with diverse and rich tones. I hope that this arrangement delivers the joy of playing and the depth of expression that characterize the original piece.
Shukuen (Celebratory banquet) [0:00]: A scene from Kaguyahime’s glamorous coming-of-age banquet. The beauty of Kaguyahime, the men’s big fuss are expressed.
Shoten (Ascension) [5:49]： A scene from Kaguyahime’s return to the moon. A messenger from the moon comes to bring back Kaguyahime, and she returns to the moon with various thoughts and feelings.
