ASTRO BOY・鉄腕アトム is a show that released in 2003 in Japan, and later released in America in 2004 as simply “Astro Boy”. This particular show aimed to reboot the franchise to appeal to both English-speaking people and Japanese-speaking people alike. As such, the English dub has a number of differences with the version produced in Japan. The English dub is similar to anime dubs of the time such as Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon, and Dragon Ball Z.
