(Production) Aniplex of America announced the acquisition of streaming rights to the anime series in March 2014. The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: The Girl Who Calls the Stars, an anime movie, was revealed in the 19th light novel volume, which was released in March 2016. Aniplex of Americaは、2014年3月にアニメシリーズのストリーミング権の取得を発表しました。劇場版 魔法科高校の劣等生』。アニメ映画『星を呼ぶ少女』は、2016年3月に発売されたライトノベル第19巻で明らかになりました。シリーズの生みの親である佐藤勉さんが脚本を担当し、2017年6月17日に日本で放送されました。小説シリーズにおける「訪問者篇」をアニメ化した第2期シリーズは、2019年10月6日に開催されたイベント「電撃文庫 秋の生誕祭」で発表され、当初は2020年7月に放送される予定でしたが、COVID-19のパンデミックの影響で2020年10月4日から12月27日まで放送されました。連載終了後には、スピンオフ漫画『魔法科高校の優等生』のテレビアニメ化が報じられ、2021年7月3日に東京MXなどで放送された。また、2021年2月28日には「追憶編」のアニメ化が発表された。
