I’ve decided to start a new type of video series called “Lost Anime Music.” It will feature songs from old anime soundtracks that deserve more recognition.
“Super Love Lotion,” sung by Harumi Kamo, is from the anime series Tokimeki Tonight. It ran from October 7, 1982 – September 22, 1983 with a total of 34 episodes from studio Group TAC. Tokimeki Tonight is about a junior high girl, Ranze, with troubles: her father is a vampire and her mother is a werewolf. Ranze has yet to manifest her supernatural powers, and her parents are beginning to worry she might be normal. On her first day in a new school, she falls in love at first sight with her classmate, Makabe. So begins the fantasy romantic comedy story. It’s a cute anime. I recommend checking it out! All of the episodes are available on Youtube! The anime is based off its manga adaptation, Tokimeki Tonight by Ikeno Koi. It has a total of 30 volumes and ran from July 1982 – October 1994. Unfortunately, the manga has not been picked up by an English publisher for translation.

I’m so sorry if the lyrics aren’t very accurate. There was no available translation online so I had to do some translating myself. I did find a video on Youtube of someone who added in the Spanish and English lyrics on their video to this song, so I used some of their lyrics (their translation wasn’t very accurate so that’s where my translating came in). I also used some of the translation from the show’s TV size. If you see any problems with my translation, please let me know! I would love to know your interpretation!
