Millennium Actress is my favourite animated film of all time. It was directed by Satoshi Kon, with music composed by Susumu Hirasawa.
It is the story of an old retired actress who recounts her memories in an interview. We see her constant search for the young man she fell in love with through scenes of her real life, and scenes from many of her films. It’s one of the most emotional, beautiful films ever made. It touched my soul like no other, which is why I call it one of the greatest films of all time.
