After taking a big L with Marvel’s Avengers introducing a lackluster Spider-Man it looks like Fortnite managed to showcase why they’re a better Avengers game. Its been pretty solid year for Spider-Man. No matter what form of media he was expected to make his appearance in it was highly anticipated. And Marvel’s Avengers was 1 of them. Now although this game has had its fair share of polarizing events since it launched back in September of last year. Its managed to stay relevent thanks largely in part to Sony’s collaberation to include the web slinger for the Playstation 4 & 5 platforms. It was this business move that had many wondering, why would Square risk ostasizing players who don’t own those consoles. And how could it stack up to Insomniac’s version of Spider-Man. he game received a remaster on Sony’s next-gen console last year, complete with visual improvements from new assets, refined lighting, and Ray Tracing. And as you’d expect Insomniac’s Spider-Man was the superior 1 of the two. Now granted Insomniac obviously had more time to work on 1 character as opposed to Crystal Dynamics who were tasked with working on multiple characters. Things like web swinging are components that simply can’t be harped on as much as they would in a single player open sandbox game like Marvel’s Spider-Man. Marvel’s Avengers isn’t any of that. Its an oline live service game. So if anyone were to draw comparisons they’d have to put it up against something from the specific genre.
