Steins;Gate Live Action – S;G Route (LIVING ADV Full Eng. Sub)

Not the live action Steins;Gate we need, but the one we deserve. This is Steins;Gate on stage, LIVING ADV. Translated into English by me (Weeb Jail).

This stage adaption was put on in 2013. It’s split up into two parts, and on different days you could come and see different endings like in the visual novel. I really wish I could have seen this thing live, because that sounds AMAZING.

He’s the original translator for this, so please go check out his translations of the other routes afterwards! He currently has the Faris and most of the Suzuha routes translated, I recommend watching those too. To be honest, if he’d translated the Steins;Gate route I probably wouldn’t have done any of it, but I thought it was important for more people to be able to see it, so, here we are.

(He also translated the first part of this, but I didn’t want to just use someone else’s work, and there were a number of things that could be improved, so I just ended up re-translating it myself. Also for some reason he cropped the video to make it full widescreen…? You crazy weeaboo).

Now that I’ve translated the Kurisu Route, there are only 2 1/4 parts to go, so I do plan to finish it at some point. No guarantees when, though! In the meantime, please check out my main channel, I have lots of awesome Steins;Gate content : D https://www.youtube.com/c/WeebJail2

I should mention! I used the anime as a reference for this, so a few of the more difficult scenes are pretty close to the official anime translation. Obviously a lot of it is changed so most of it I had to translate myself, and I made a bunch of changes to the dialogue overall, so I think mine is the superior translation (comment if you have any questions about my translation!), but I wanted to acknowledge proper credit for this, and in general I think the official sub is excellent.

Also you might notice that a few of the characters, especially Okabe, speak a little more directly/harshly than the anime/VN, this is because the dialogue had to be shortened/exaggerated in many places in adapting to the stage, hopefully this comes out in my translation. Basically if you’re wondering why Okabe swears now this is why. (He basically does in the original but directly translating it is kind of weird normally, so this got left out on the anime/VN translations.)
