Synopsis:
The story starts in a small mountain village where five primary school kids are enjoying their carefree summer away from parent supervision. While searching for their missing class pet, a rabbit called Pyon-Kichi, they happen to stumble across what appears to be a small injured dog. It turns out that this dog is actually an alien called Pochi Rickman who’s on an important mission to seek out a mysterious substance called Zughan that is coveted throughout the known universe. Pochi was close to finding this substance but was badly injured during a fight and had to give up on the search. With the children’s help Pochi survives and he invites them to visit the moon as thanks for saving him. Through a series of events, the children become stranded and must make their way across the galaxy to Pochi’s home world to try and find a way to return to Earth before their parents realise they’re gone. Along the way they are perused mercilessly, by the same villains that attacked Pochi, as they desperately try to procure the coveted substance that just so happens to be a close relative of the wasabi root – and something that one of the children has in their possession.
