Clay has always been a run killer in all of my Hardcore Pokémon Black Nuzlockes. This time we had a plan.
By getting a Basculin in Driftveil city we noticed it had an Adamant nature which naturally boosts the attack stat.
We then EV trained the attack stat on the Basculin to further increase it’s attack.
Then we gave it a Water gem to hold in battle so that it boosts the power of water moves for 1 turn.
When facing off against the Excadrill our calculations said that a successfully landed Aqua tail would take ~150% of health off of the Excadrill, meaning that it would be killed with one hit.
Defeating that Excadrill was one of the most satisfying moments I had in a while.
